Dr. Fernandez received his Doctor of Chiropractic from the Columbia Institute of Chiropractic, now the New York College of Chiropractic, and his Masters in Science in Administrative Medicine and Public Health from Columbia University. Dr. Fernandez also graduated from Long Island University’s program in Nursing Home administration and is licensed as a nursing home administrator. Finally, he was selected by the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation to represent the municipal hospital system at Harvard School of Public Health’s Health Systems Management Program, from which he graduated.

We are proud to announce the appointment of Terry Russo, Nurse Practitioner, as Director for Medical Services. Terry brings over 30 years of experience in public health, primary care, and pain management, making her a key addition to our team. In her new role, Terry will focus on expanding our integrative health programs, offering a comprehensive approach to patient care. Her experience in pain management, combined with her passion for holistic and natural therapies, aligns perfectly with our mission to empower patients in their health journey.

Dr. Rebecca Burgio is the appointed Director for our newly established Naturopathic Medicine Center at Integrative Medicine & Holistic Wellness Center. Dr. Burgio earned her BS in Biology & Biochemistry at Framingham State University. She further attended the University of Bridgeport where she received both a Doctorate of Chiropractic and a Naturopathic Medical Doctorate, a feat to be celebrated. She has been in practice for over a decade where she has effectively combined both sciences in meeting the health care of her patients. She has been a proponent of natural medicine since her youth, fully understanding that our present healthcare system is overmedicating and undertreating the most vulnerable among us.

Catherine (Casey) Hammond, RN is certified functional health coach, homeopathic consultant, and certified Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) practitioner, Casey focuses on non-pharmaceutical modalities. Her specialties are the Emotional Freedom Technique. (EFT or Tapping) and homeopathy. She is passionate about sharing EFT because of its power to heal deeply and gently, and because once learned EFT can become a self-help tool. When Casey was in her teens, her mother was diagnosed with cancer. One of her mother’s treatments caused her to become temporarily blind. At that time, Casey realized there had to be a better way. She has been on a life-long journey exploring complementary and integrative modalities. Her style of practice does not interfere with conventional medicine.

Dr. Majewski received his doctorate of chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA and a B.S. in animal science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is a native cape codder who grew up in yarmouthport and to this day enjoys all the cape has to offer. While at Palmer College Dr. Majewski took advantage of the many technique seminars offered including activator methods, applied kinesiology, which can effectively be used for nutritional diagnostic testing, and a variety of other techniques

Dr. Fernandez received his Doctor of Chiropractic from the Columbia Institute of Chiropractic, now the New York College of Chiropractic and is trained and certified in the Upledger CranioSacral Therapy technique. This therapy is based on the perception and palpation of the cranial rhythmic impulse (CRI), which is the movement of cerebrospinal fluid within the dural and intracranial membranes. CST is an alternative treatment that uses gentle touch to manipulate the joints in the cranium, spine, and pelvis to treat a variety of medical problems, including chronic pain and sports injuries.

Dr. Susan M. Neary has joined our team of professionals here at the Integrative Wellness Center, as a licensed Cape Cod acupuncturist. She received her Master of Science in Pain Research, Education and Policy from the Tufts University School of Medicine, Education, and Policy and her Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from The New England School of Acupuncture. In addition, she has completed the Harvard Structural Acupuncture Program for Physicians.

Rosa Mejia, LMT will be joining our team of practitioners to better serve the Spanish speaking population of Cape Cod. Rosa brings experience from her previous practice in her native Peru where she conducted her own private practice in acupuncture and massage therapy. She would be joining our clinical director, Dr. Jose Fernandez, and will be working the Director of Massage Therapy, Life coach, cranial therapy and chakra body alignment practitioner

We are happy to welcome Melissa Kelly BSN, RN to our wellness team as a Reiki and Sound Healing practitioner & Life Coach. She practiced in various hospital settings as a Registered Nurse for 8 years, specializing in Mental Health, during which time she became a Reiki practitioner. She later went on to study Traditional Chinese Medicine & Sound Healing. She is honored to offer these natural & gentle ways to the Cape Cod community. She has devoted her life to helping others go from healing to thriving through remembrance of their inherent wholeness.

Integrative Medicine & Holistic Wellness Center is privileged to announce the appointment of Alex Rodriguez as our sports medicine Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) for our Chiropractic Sports Medicine department. Alex is a graduate from Barry University in Miami, Florida, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training. Over the years, Alex has attained additional certifications as a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) specialist via self-education. Alex brings over a decade of professional baseball experience as well as a winning pedigree, having recently worked with the Texas Rangers (2023 World Series Champions) and the Philadelphia Phillies (2022 World Series Runner-Up)
